when using the SUPERDRV ramdisk from AST Research.
Autotest (AUTOTES)
Shows floppy and hard disk access times for sequential and random
seeks. It will not damage any files on the disk. Works on RAM disks too.
Bootdump (BOOTDUM)
displays technical information about a disk's boot record.

are mistakenly deleted, or a patching up an incorrect FAT.
Fat2 1.09
Dunford, Christopher J.
$0
displays the chain of clusters that belong to a disk file, to determine which
file owns a specified cluster or sector, and to display general information
about a disk. It will also display general information about a disk. This also
has support for large partitions under DOS 4+.

Sydex
$20
[01/94 CD]
is a set of two DOS device drivers for Hewlett-Packard's HP-150 and HP-150
series II DOS diskettes.
HP150Sys 2.0
Sydex
$20
is a set of two DOS device drivers for Hewlett-Packard's HP-150 and HP-150
series II DOS diskettes.
MoveHD 2
Washburn C.
$0
is a device driver to relocate HD parameter tables to low memory so that the
original block may be overlaid by QEMM or 386MAX and used for LIM.
RainDOS 1.12 (RAINDOS) 01-94 CD
Sydex
$15
is a DOS device driver DEC's Rainbow DOS diskettes.
Rock Disk Info 1.13 (ROCKDI)
Rock Systems
$21
displays a chart of information about one or all disk drives. Info includes
their type, volume labels, sizes, space used/available, sector size, cluster
size, number of FATs, sectors, clusters, and system identifications.
Stat
displays disk cluster size and other disk info.
UnNonDOS 1.0
Christensen, Ward
$0
is a program designed to simply and safely patch the FAT byte 00 of a hard disk
back to an F8. Use it when CHKDSK says "probable non-DOS disk". The C source is
included.
Vfat
displays a directory listing under a graphic representation of the File
Allocation Table. By moving the cursor keys to select a file, you can see just
which sectors on the disk are used by the file.

0270 Device Drivers
-------------------
Comment
Gilbreach, Skip
$?
is an MSDOS 2.0(+) device driver whose function is simply to echo a string to
the standard output device. The driver code is not actually installed by DOS
so no memory is wasted, and the driver can be referenced in CONFIG.SYS as often
as desired.
Dev
is a small utility for more advanced users. It will list all current
device drivers along with their memory addresses.
DviceMap 2.10 (DVICEMA)
Jenkins, Stephen L.
$?
shows the names, the order, addresses, attributes, strategies and interrupt
locations for device drivers.
UMB_DRVR 5.22 (UMBDRVR)
Blum, Christopher
$25
is a DOS 5.0 device driver that will use the shadow memory capability of the
memory controller portion of various chip sets to force all ROM's not
specifically excluded to be shadowed, and expand DOS base memory beyond 640KB
if possible, and provide UMB's (Upper Memory Blocks) to DOS for loading
programs and device drivers into high memory while not using any resident
memory.
0270 Reference
--------------
AnsiRef
Telemacus Software Associates
$?
displays a reference table of the most common ANSI control strings. (on disk
#280)
ESC
Hersey Micro Consulting, Inc.
$?
lets you change cursor, screen, keyboard, or speaker attributes. Actually, the
documentation for this program is almost more valuable than the program. It
clearly lays out the control code sequences recognized by ANSI.SYS.
Phoenix.Txt
$0
is text file of all the beep error codes and their Phoenix Rom Bios names.
PinMap
Tackett, Ray
$0
is a VGA 15 pin connection map for 9 pin monitors. Specific information for Sony
and NEC monitors are given, but should cover most 9 pin monitor connectors.
Text Watch 1.1 (TXTWTCH)
Vitt, Mark
$17
allows you to monitor changes in files such as WIN.INI, CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT.
XFan
Brown, Cliff
$0
tells you how to quieten a PC's noisy fan once and for all.
0270 Set-Up:
------------
704K
lets you use up to 704k of memory as DOS RAM memory that you can run
programs in. The normal limit is 640k with memory above that only being useful
for spoolers, RAM disks, etc.
896K
Atkinson, Cy
$0
tells how to increase memory and use the resulting memory above 640k in older
PC/XT's inexpensively and without any soldering.
ATclkset
lets you reset your AT clock without running the Setup utility.
CClock 1.0
Angel, Dave
$0
reads your system's CMOS clock and set DOS clock without having to reboot.
Assembler source code is included.
CMOS 1.4 (CMOS14)
Roedy Green
$0
restores CMOS settings which have been wiped out by power surges, battery
failure. The original CMOS configuration is saved in a file and restored
when needed.
Cmosget & Cmosput (CMOSREA)
is intended to store a PC-AT's setup information which is normally stored
in battery-powered CMOS memory on the AT. Once stored, you can change the
battery and reload the parameters without having to use the AT's setup program
using the command CMOSPUT < CMOS.DAT in your AUTOEXEC.BAT.
EasyDate 4.5 (EASYDAT)
Evans, Brian
$3
is a quick and easy way to set the date and time for users who don't have
hardware clocks. Features include: a running clock, command line options, it
will use latest date & time (either the stored date and time or the system date
and time), color, selection cursor has 'slide along' arrows, and it is windowed
in center of screen.
Enviro
is a patch for COMMAND.COM (IBM-PC) to allow for a larger environment area.
Currently, only 223 bytes total are allowed for environment string storage, with
all data over 223 bytes truncated. Use the patch to increase the size of this
data area.
Envxpand (ENVXPAN)
provides a way of expanding your environment to 1024 bytes, which should
give you plenty of space for most uses. The original DOS strings take up less
than an eighth of this space.
Gsetup
Micro Consulting Associates
$?
is a generic SETUP program for the model 99 IBM-PC/AT and compatibles. It will
allow you to setup the system clock, system date and all CMOS parameters in the
same way that the IBM diagnostics allows to to setup the CMOS parameters but
without having to boot a special disk.
Memory (MEMRYML)
Microlife, Inc.
$?
is a utility to allow dynamic setting/resetting of the amount of memory used by
DOS. The major advantage is that the system switches can be set to anything
your heart desires, with the knowledge that you should not have to open up the
PC to set switches while using MEMORY.
MemSiz 2.0
resizes the current block of free memory available.
MoreDOS
Graham, Keith P.
$0
checks for DOS above 640k and adjusts the DOS memory map without rebooting.
